Worldwide terrestrial coverage. 70% of Diptera specimens were collected from Canada.

Bounding Coordinates South West [-90, -180], North East [90, 180]

Taxonomic Coverage

This dataset includes specimens in the collection of all Diptera (240,000+), all Canadian Neuroptera (2,700+), Canadian Coleoptera(2,600+) from the families Buprestidae and Dermestidae, Canadian Hymenoptera(2,900+) from the families Eumenidae and Vespidae, Araneae (4,500+).

Sampling Methods

Create new record in collection database using Biota 2 and populate fields with the information on all attached specimens and determination labels.

Study Extent Digitization of the Diptera, Coleoptera, Hymenoptera, Neuroptera and Araneae from the Lyman Entomological Collection (LEMQ).
Quality Control Label and identification data were entered using control vocabularies and species names were checked for spelling and synonyms. All fields have been filled in a standardized way.
