University of British Columbia Botanical Garden curates a collection of ca. 12 000 plants representing approximately 8000 taxa from temperate regions around the world. Temperate forest plants of British Columbia, eastern North America and Asia are curated in woodland gardens, while a classic alpine garden displays the diverse flora of high-altitude regions of the world. Other gardens include a Food Garden, a Physic (Medicinal) Garden, an Arbour, and a Perennial Borders Garden.

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 9,614 records.
