Description
The University of Calgary Herbarium (UAC) includes an extensive collection of land plants from Alberta, Canada and around the world (~90,000 specimens). The current dataset includes records of the Lycophytes and Monilophytes in the collection.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,650 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods
Label information of pressed specimens in the University of Calgary Herbarium was databased. If coordinates were given, they were converted to decimal degrees. Verbatim location records were georeferenced with Google Earth.
Study Extent | Most specimens were collected in Alberta, Canada |
---|
Method step description:
- Georeferencing steps were as follows: (1) If coordinates were given (e.g., UTM), they were converted to decimal degrees. (2) Verbatim location records were georeferenced with Google Earth; (3) An estimate of the uncertainty was made based on the size of the circumference of area where the specimen could reasonably have been collected.
