Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 9,062 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Title Northern Biodiversity Program
Study Area Description Northern Canada
Design Description 12 sites (see location). Standardized passive sampling design. 9 pitfall and 9 pan traps distributed randomly in 3m 15x75m transects, in 3 mesic and 3 wet habitat replicates (108 traps per site). Traps collected every 4 days (324 samples/site total). Beetles extracted and ID'd.

The personnel involved in the project:

Buddle, Wheeler, Currie, Ernst

Sampling Methods

12 locations (4/northern ecoclimatic zone - see "Geographic Coverage"). 9 pitfall and 9 pan traps distributed randomly in 3m 15x75m transects, in 3 mesic and 3 wet habitat replicates (108 traps per site). Traps set with propylene glycol. Traps collected every 4 days (324 samples/site total). Samples placed immediately in 95% EtOH. Beetles later extracted and ID'd.

Study Extent See "Geographic Coverage"
Quality Control Species-level IDs (or of difficult groups) either performed by, or confirmed by, taxonomic experts.
