La collection de plantes vasculaires de l’Herbier du Québec comprend près de 152 000 spécimens, dont 3 000 au stade de plantules. Les plantes adventices et autres plantes d’intérêt agronomique, de même que les plantes du milieu forestier, y sont bien représentées. Les spécimens proviennent majoritairement des régions tempérées, boréales et arctiques du Québec, de l’est du Canada et du nord-est des États-Unis. La majorité des spécimens date des années 1920 à 2010. Ce jeu de données inclut des récoltes issues de plusieurs collections d’importance patrimoniale et scientifique, notamment : • La collection Dominique-Napoléon Saint-Cyr : premier conservateur de l’Herbier du musée de l’Instruction publique (1880-1890). Elle compte 5000 spécimens provenant principalement de Minganie et d’Anticosti. • La collection Jacques-Rousseau : botaniste spécialiste de la flore nordique (1930-1950). Elle comprend 5000 spécimens provenant d’Anticosti, du lac Mistassini et du Nouveau-Québec. • La collection Richard-Cayouette : conservateur de QUE entre 1942 et 1979. avec Elle tient, dans le cadre du projet de flore, 11 000 spécimens des régions de Québec, du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean et de la Côte-Nord. • La collection Pierre-Masson : conservateur ou conservateur adjoint de 1950 à 1987. Elle compte 27 000 spécimens des régions sud du Québec. The vascular plant collection of the Quebec Herbarium includes nearly 152,000 specimens, including nearly 3,000 seedlings. Weeds, other agronomically significant plants as well as forest plants are well represented. The specimens mainly come from the temperate, boreal and arctic regions of Quebec, eastern Canada and the north-eastern United States. Most of the specimens date from the 1920s to 2010. This dataset includes collections of significant heritage and scientific importance, notably: • The Dominique-Napoléon Saint-Cyr Collection: first curator of the Herbarium of the Museum of Public Instruction (1880-1890). It includes 5,000 specimens mainly from Minganie and Anticosti. • The Jacques-Rousseau Collection: botanist specializing in northern flora (1930-1950). It includes comprising 5,000 specimens from Anticosti, Lake Mistassini and Nouveau-Québec. • The Richard-Cayouette Collection: curator of QUE between 1942 and 1979. As part of the flora project, it holds 11,000 specimens from the regions of Quebec, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Côte-Nord. • The Pierre-Masson Collection: curator or assistant curator from 1950 to 1987. It holds 27,000 specimens from the southern regions of Quebec.

Les spécimens proviennent majoritairement des régions tempérées, boréales et arctiques du Québec, de l’Est du Canada et du nord-est des États-Unis. L’Herbier du Québec héberge également l’Herbier Campagna-Dubé (QSA), composé de 16 000 spécimens, anciennement conservé à l’Institut de technologie agroalimentaire de La Pocatière. En 2017, les collections phycologiques Jules-Brunel et Irénée-Marie (algues marines et d’eau douce), comprenant 5 000 spécimens, ont été cédées à l’Herbier du Québec par l’Université de Montréal. / The Herbarium of Quebec comprises nearly 200,000 specimens, including 152,000 vascular plants, 25,000 bryophytes and lichens, 3,000 seedlings of vascular plants, and a small collection of marine algae (fewer than 200 specimens). Weeds and other plants of agronomic interest are well represented. The specimens mainly come from the temperate, boreal, and arctic regions of Quebec, Eastern Canada, and the northeastern United States. The Herbarium of Quebec also houses the Campagna-Dubé Herbarium (QSA), consisting of 16,000 specimens, formerly conserved at the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire de La Pocatière. In 2017, the Jules-Brunel and Irénée-Marie phycological collections (marine and freshwater algae), comprising 5,000 specimens, were transferred to the Herbarium of Quebec by the Université de Montréal.
