The RSM has 86,000 small mammals identified from more than 10,000 owl pellet collections across the Canadians grassland region. Pellets also include reptiles, amphibians, birds, and insects but most of these have not been sorted or identified. Most of the pellets were collected from Great Horned Owls and Burrowing Owls between 1997 and 2016.
